Here at Lakewood High School, we are very fortunate to have access to the school supplies that our students need to learn, but other schools aren’t as privileged. The average school in Africa doesn’t have the school supplies children need to have a productive time in school, meaning thousands of deserving kids lack the opportunity to have a proper education.
Throughout the month of May, the Lakewood High School Interact Club will be collecting any unused school supplies to send to these less fortunate schools. We need your help to collect as many donations as possible, including backpacks, calculators, notebooks, pencils, art supplies, and any other supplies you are willing to donate. Boxes will be placed in the main office as well as the school counseling office.
If you would like to write another thank you card to a staff member, please see Mrs. McElroy in the main office today.
Yearbook distribution is on May 12. Please note that all fines must be paid before you will receive your yearbook. Fine lists are posted by the Finance Office.
Seniors will receive their yearbooks from the Depot during the senior picnic on the west patio; all other students may pick up their yearbooks after school on May 12.
Two weeks from today, we will have a special assembly on the Senior's last day on Monday, May 15. Tiger Time at the end of the day for the traditional senior walk-out. Please note the schedules posted around the building. Thank you.
Locker clean out for all students will be May 15-19. Please make sure to take your locker items home.
Big announcement from the Lakewood Chess and Go Club. Please help congratulate them on winning the State Chess Tournament this weekend up in Ft. Collins. Players Justin Gailey, Danny Hunter, Thomas Ngo, Hunter Lyon and Garrett Ross all played gallantly. After a tough third round they fought back to win the 3 Round Robin Blitz tie breaker and came away with the win. Mr. Purcell could not be more proud and again congratulations!!
Do you need volunteer hours? Or just like sports?
